Put those in season strawberries to good use and try a strawberry margarita. Have it ready to drink in just a few minutes!
If I’m going to have an alcoholic beverage, my drink of choice is a margarita every time. They are refreshing, usually fruity, and easy to make. This strawberry margarita is a real crowd pleaser and perfect for any occasion! It is not super sweet, but it lets you really taste the strawberry, lime, and tequila flavors.
All margaritas have simple syrup in them. I like to make my own because it is quick, easy, and like the name, simple. It is just equal parts water to sugar. Boil the water first and then remove it from the heat and then stir in the sugar until it dissolves. Store it in the fridge and it keeps for many weeks.
If you don’t have a shot glass like me, 3 tablespoons equals one shot. If you like your margarita a little stronger, you can always add more tequila. The beauty of margaritas is they are customizable so you can adjust all the ingredients to your liking!
Ingredients
- Strawberries
- Simple Syrup
- Lime juice
- Triple Sec
- Tequila
- Ice
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries and cut the tops off of them. Blend the strawberries until they turn into a liquid.
- Pour the pureed strawberries into a large mason jar. If you don’t want or like the seeds in the drink, you can strain the strawberries through a fine mesh strainer to get rid of them. Add the lime juice, simple syrup, triple sec, tequila, and ice.
- Shake until well combined and the jar feels cold to the touch.
- Line the rim of the glasses with salt or sugar. Position the lid so the drink comes out but the ice stays behind. Divide the drink between two glasses.
- Serve.
