These cherry hand pies are everything! The filling is sweet, the crust is flaky, the glaze is lemon flavored, and they are easy to make.
These are great for holidays to make for your loved ones. Decorate them with sprinkles that match whatever holiday it is, and you will have yourself a thoughtful and oh so delicious gift.
You can fill these with whatever kind of pie filling is your favorite. You can make half of them apple and the other half cherry. Use whatever you like!
I used a dough press by Prepworks to make my pies the exact same size and easy to seal the edges. My exact one comes in a set of three dough presses that are three different sizes. It is sold on Amazon for only $10! They are super handy not just for hand pies, but you can use them to make ravioli, calzones, pirogis, and other pastries. If you make things like this regularly, I recommend getting a set. It makes the preparation time shorter, makes sure what your making is all the same shape, and they are really easy to clean and dishwasher safe.
