Enjoy multiple delicious meals in one effort by making a smoked beef brisket. It’s delicious plain, on sandwiches, or as the protein in your favorite recipes.
Cooking a brisket it a great way to have delicious and easy meals all week long. A few of my favorite ways to use it are these Brisket French Dip Sandwiches and a BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich.
The pink ring around the outside is called the smoke ring. The smoke adds great flavor. We always use Big Green Egg Charcoal in our Big Green Egg Smoker. We have found it gives us the right amount of smokey taste without it being overpowering. There is nothing worse than spending a bunch of time and money on a big piece of meat and it is inedible because it literally tastes like smoke.
This is a great reason why you need to wait until your smoker reaches temperature before you put the meat in the smoker. If you put the meat in it while it’s heating up, there is so much smoke that is being produced and that it will go directly into your meat. Yuck. I know this because I’ve done it. Whoops. Even the dogs wouldn’t eat it. It’s bad. If you are using a different type of smoker, make sure you can control how much smoke it’s getting so it gets that nice smoke ring but it’s not the only thing you can taste.
