This is an easy French toast recipe that is bound to be a new family favorite. It tastes amazing and it’s quick to get on the table.
Breakfast is close to my favorite meal of the day but my least favorite to prepare. My kids like to eat right after they wake up and well, I don’t but I’m not about to make breakfast twice. This is quick enough to prepare that my kids don’t mind waiting a few extra minutes for this to be ready. I like to make this weekly because it is that easy and that good.
Feeding a family on a budget these days is a struggle. This French toast is such an inexpensive but beyond delicious way to feed many. It pairs wonderfully with eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, bacon, and fruit.
There are many toppings that go good on it as well like fruit, whipped cream, butter, chopped nuts, jelly, syrup and or sprinkles. What combination would you try?
French toast is perfect for brunch. Pair it with this Bacon Cheddar Quiche, Peach Fritter Bites and Sausage Egg Muffins for a menu that everyone would enjoy.
Ingredients
- French Bread
- Whole Milk
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Salt
Instructions
- Slice the French bread into 1-inch-thick slices.
- Make the batter. Combine the whole milk, eggs, vanilla, and salt into a flat-bottomed dish. Whisk until well combined.
- Preheat your skillet over medium low heat. Rub a butter stick all over just enough so your French Toast does not stick.
- Dunk the bread slices into the batter and fully coat both sides. Don’t do all slices at once, only the amount that can fit in your skillet. I do two slices at a time.
- Cook for a few minutes on each side or until golden brown.
- Serve with butter and syrup.

Delicious french toast! A favorite for both my kids and me. We eat it plain, or with fresh berries on top.
