Chewy, chocolatey, and irresistible, these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are a crowd favorite. This is the best cookie recipe!
This recipe goes way back in my family. My dad’s mom made them for him and his siblings growing up and then he made them for my sister and me. Now it’s my turn to make them for my kids. They are so nostalgic and bring back great memories every time I make them.
I haven’t found a recipe that compares to them. They are the only oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I will eat. They are that good! This recipe makes three dozen which is the perfect amount to keep some for yourself and to give some to your neighbors or friends.
I like to stick a dozen in the freezer uncooked to use at a later time as well. Being able to open the freezer and having premade cookies sitting there waiting for you is such a luxury especially when one is super busy, like most are.
