Skip the sandwich shop and try this ultimate sub sandwich. It has lots of meat and toppings for the perfect bite!
I worked in a sandwich all throughout high school. I honestly loved my job and miss working there frequently. I was the sandwich maker, and our menu was very large, or you could make any sandwich you wanted. I got to see a million different flavor combinations and I would try the ones I thought were appealing.
This sandwich ended up being one of my favorites that I would make regularly. We had jalapeno bacon, which is what I used most the time, but I’ve never been able to find one that compares to what they had. The flavors in this really complement each other and don’t overpower one another. It’s not heavy either even though there are three meats.
Sometimes there is nothing better than a high-quality sub sandwich. This one hits the spot every time!
Ingredients
- French Steak Roll
- Mayonnaise
- Mustard
- Pepper
- Pepper Jack Cheese
- Deli Ham
- Deli Roast Beef
- Bacon
- Tomato
- Red Onion
- Mild Banana Pepper Rings
- Lettuce
- Italian Dressing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Bake the bacon for about 15 minutes or until a dark golden-brown color. Let cool on paper towel so it catches the extra grease.
- Using a serrated knife, cut the roll in half long ways. Spread out a thin layer of mustard on one half and mayonnaise on the other.
- Sprinkle the pepper over the mayonnaise.
- Put a piece of pepper jack cheese on the mustard half. Cut it in half if you need to so it fits on the bread.
- Chop your vegetables. Cut the tomatoes into coins, thinly slice the red onion, and cut the banana rings into smaller pieces.
- Put a layer of tomatoes over the mayonnaise. Spread out the red onion and banana ring pieces over top of the tomatoes.
- Lay two pieces of ham side by side over the cheese. Do the same with the roast beef over top of the ham.
- Lay a piece of bacon over top the roast beef.
- Top the meat with some lettuce.
- Drizzle the Italian dressing over the tomatoes, banana peppers, and onions.
- Fold the top half over the bottom half and cut the sandwich in half so it is easier to hold.
- Serve immediately.
