These fried chicken tenders have the best crunchy outside, but the chicken stays nice and juicy. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauce.
At my house we go through chicken nuggets like none other. My kids just love them, but I just can’t get past the texture of the chicken. These homemade fried chicken tenders are ten times better and will appeal to the adults as well as kids! A great family friendly meal.
The batter on these is thin so it is not heavy. It gets nice and crunchy during the frying process which compliments the chicken and sauces perfectly. They also reheat in the air fryer very well. If there are any leftovers that is.
Ingredients
- Chicken Breasts
- Heavy Cream
- Flour
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic Powder
- Paprika
- Vegetable Oil
Instructions
- Trim the fat off of the chicken breasts and then butterfly them. Then cut it into strips.
- In one bowl put the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Whisk together.
- In another bowl put the heavy cream.
- Now heat your vegetable oil to 325 degrees. Put about half an inch worth of oil in your pan.
- Set the strips of chicken next to flour and heavy cream bowls in a line for ease and less mess when dredging the chicken. Dip each piece of chicken in the flour and then shake off the excess. Then dip it in the heavy cream. Then dip it back in the flour and shake off the excess.
- Only put 4 or 5 pieces of chicken in the oil at a time so it is not overcrowded. Cook them for about 3 minutes on each side or until it has an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
- Remove the chicken and set it on a paper towel lined plate.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
